Job Description

DCS is looking for a Technical Analyst to provide helicopter airworthiness engineering and analysis support to the Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development, and Engineering Center, Redstone Arsenal, AL.

Essential Job Functions:

Participate on a multi-contractor/Government Integrated Process Team (IPT) to provide analysis of system airworthiness requirements, safety and health hazard/risk assessments, develop technical documentation, and contribute to system reviews/technical interchange meetings.

Interface with AMRDEC/AED Functional Divisions and supporting activities, Utility Helicopter PMO staff, other Army/DoD/FAA organizations and aircraft OEM/parts suppliers involved with modernizing existing aircraft or fielding new systems worldwide.

Prepare technical documentation, including Risk Determinations, Airworthiness Impact Statements (AWIS), System Safety Risk Assessments (SSRA), Safety of Flight (SOF), Aviation Safety Action Messages (ASAM), and Aviation Maintenance Action Messages (AMAM).

Leverage technical and tactical military experiences to provide timely advice and recommendations to the AED and UH PMO staff in support of U.S Army global operations.

Job Requirements

U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.

Bachelor's degree with 8 years relevant experience, Associate degree or Technical School graduate with 10 years of experience, or High School diploma with 16 years of experience.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Demonstrate experience with Blackhawk, Lakota and/or equivalent utility helicopter systems/component design, development, integration, test, and/or fielding to include maintenance and repair functions.

General knowledge of aircraft structures, propulsion, power-trains, rotors, flight controls, electrical systems, avionics, multi-function displays, ASE and/or special mission equipment packages is necessary.

Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Desired Skills:

Technical degree preferred.

Experience reviewing airworthiness and system safety requirements and associated certification process, evaluating Modification Work Orders and Engineering Change Proposals, and processing Category I and II Deficiency Reports.

Familiarity with the Army’s Critical Safety Items Program, to include coordinating Source Approval Requests.
