Salary Range: $66,560 - $104,048

Oversee lab simulator operations for NAVAIR’s F/A-18 Lab-Facilities Team.

Essential Job Functions:

Provide technical support and customer service to engineers and lab users that conduct systems integration tests for F/A-18 and EA-18G development.

Troubleshoot F/A-18 avionic systems and restore lab simulator functionality in the event of failure or component discrepancies.

Work on a tech team that multitasks during high operational tempo: perform technical and logistic tasks while supporting multiple lab users in test with a quality customer service attitude.

Routinely schedule lab tests and coordinate assets per specific user requests in a secure testing environment.

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on wire bundles, connectors, RF cables, and fiber-optic lines for avionics and weapons integration lab equipment.

Evaluate, specify, order, test, configure, and track aircraft and lab assets for AWL Facilities requirements.

Support the Lab-Facilities Team’s Electrical Engineers with evaluation of lab system repairs, modifications, and upgrades.

Required Skills: 

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

High School graduate with 7 years of relevant experience or 5 years of experience with certified training at US Navy “A” School for Aviation or commercial avionics technical school.

Must be able to be granted a security clearance and maintain one for the duration of employment.

Able to stand for long duration of time, kneel, bend, independently lift up to 50-lbs, and move mobile equipment as a team.

Must have experience with Windows OS, Microsoft Office programs, and web-database applications.

Must have a valid driver's license and be available to work day or night shift.

Desired Skills:

Prior USN / USMC flight line maintainer, trained as an Aviation Electronics Technician or Aviation Electrician, experienced with Airborne Weapon Systems.

USN Class “C” School certifications in in E/A-18 Growler Platform and electrical and electronics repair.

24 months of F/A-18 O-Level Avionics/Electrician experience; 12 within past 36 months.
