Job Description

DCS Corporation is currently seeking a senior systems engineer to provide critical engineering support to the Presidential Helicopter program’s engineering team during the development, acquisition and integration of aircraft intercommunication systems (ICS); mission planning; communications planning; and aircraft cockpit displays. The senior systems engineer billet will be responsible for:

  • Utilizing principles of systems engineering, and other engineering disciplines, analyzing and recommending solutions, and clarify requirements.

  • Coordinating documentation, vendor information, and FAA certification for the ICS as well as software management and hardware configuration used as GFE for aircraft systems integration.

  • The integration of the newly developed communications system phone splitters.

  • Use and development of DIGIMAP overlays, satellite weather, the addition of a 5th cockpit display, data transfer unit (DTU) logic, and Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) (PMA-281) leveraging the commercial differences with universal (flight management systems and map vendors) map based solutions and use.

  • Use of common cockpit and display’s unique toolsets for interfaces with an organic mission communication systems planning system.

  • Coordinating navigation software licensing origins, future periodic planning and updates.

  • Working with the test community and supporting contractors to investigate discrepancy reports and provide courses of action to the program on how to resolve or mitigate these discrepancies.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a top secret security clearance is required.

Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience.

Must be clearable to Top Secret.

Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and Systems Engineering Technical Reviews.

Strong communication skills, experienced team leader/builder, ability to work closely with multiple diverse teams simultaneously, and the drive to contribute to program success.

Desired Skills:

Understanding of Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) software, related hardware, and systems engineering technical requirements processes.

Familiarity with DoD and NAVAIR acquisition processes and Systems Engineering Technical Reviews.

Knowledge of FAA certification processes.
