Job Description

The successful candidate will design and implement equipment installation plans based on user needs, maintain network assets, troubleshoot network-centric issues, and implement enterprise WiFi solutions.

Essential Job Functions:

The systems architect shall advise and assist by providing oversight and participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, optimization and documentation of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This includes managing multiple projects, planning network technology road maps, and configuring/optimizing network services both internally and those integrated with Internet-based services.

The systems architect will also manage the network servers. This includes application, database, web, email, back-up, VoIP, and other servers. The network engineer will also analyze and resolve network/server service problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide reports, documentation, and training where required.

The systems architect will conduct research on network/server products, services, standards for the purpose of remaining current.

The systems architect will coordinate new construction, remodels, and existing facilities network/server for the purpose of completing designs, planning, purchasing, installation, configuration, maintenance, and testing.

The systems architect will develop, implement, and maintain network/server administrative authorization for the purpose of having policies and procedures.

The systems architect will develop, implement, and maintain the processes and documentation for network/server managements.

 The systems architect will manage network/server services and documentation training, physical architecture, quality control, remote access, security, service, service architecture, service records, technical training for the purpose of having effective network/server.

The systems architect will provide excellent customer service onsite and remotely for the purpose of restoring service promptly and to resolve problems.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology related field with strong systems architect and network engineering focus but 8 years of experience is required.

Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance within 6-9 months.

8+ years’ experience managing sophisticated computer networks including 5+ software, hardware, and configuration.

The applicant must have experience implementing an enterprise Wireless (WiFi) solution.

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) CompTIA Network+ CompTIA Project+ or Project Management Professional (PMP) DoD 8570 compliant certification (IAM Level II).

Proficient in network design, implementation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Proficient with creating cost and schedule estimates, technical writing, configuration management, and presentations.

Demonstrated ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations.

Must have a working knowledge of computer systems, an understanding of Windows-based personal computers and Microsoft Office software, and possess the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Must pass drug testing.

Must be able to read and write effectively in English.

With the exception of approved time off, attendance is considered essential.

Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.

Must perform work activities requiring interaction, negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others.

Desired Skills:

A current active Secret security clearance.

10+ years professional experience performing engineering tasks.

Additional CompTIA certifications (A+, Security+), Windows Server 2012 (or newer), Six Sigma Green Belt or higher, OR ITIL Foundations certification, Linux Operating System certification, (CompTIA Linux+, LPIC-1, RHCSA) IEEE Member.
