Job Description

Test Technician supporting the F/A-18 Electronic Warfare (EW) Team at the Advanced Weapons Lab China Lake, CA. 

Essential Job Functions:

Provide all software updates for the F/A-18 EW related lab tools.

Update All EW hardware with current OFP's.

Operate and maintain the ALQ 218 and EW SITE RF benches.

Assist the AWL LAB techs with day to day EW related problems and troubleshooting.

Assist VX-31 maintenance with troubleshooting EW systems, loading new OFPs/CRYPTO, installing LAB WRAs or LRIP assets, and ensure the Growler is ready for all flight test.

Assist EW COGs/FTEs with ground test as required.

Verify IETMS procedures for each EW system, for each SCS.

Support and assist in managing EW assets and configurations/troubleshooting.

Assist VX31 and VX9 with ALQ-99 POD related problems and Configuration issues

Assist the MLV test team with testing all EW related Software releases both in the LAB and on the Aircraft.

Track all Flight hours, MSP codes and OMF’s on the current SCS.  Maintain a detailed spread sheet and submit reports to management. Track all maintenance actions and BIT False alarms. In accordance with the current TEMP.

Participate on weekly LAB integration phone call with Pt. Mugu and Boeing St Louis to discuss LAB and testing issues

Act as liaison between VX9 and the AWL

Advise the AT shop on all EW related avionics problems.

Advise EW aircrew and analysts on EW related Software problems and SAR fixes.

Required Skills

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Must have a high school diploma with 12 years of relevant experience.  Will also consider an Associates degree or trade school certificate with 10 years relevant experience.

Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance and maintain the clearance for the duration of employment.

A minimum of 5 years Electronic Warfare and/or F/A-18 Avionics Aircraft Technician Experience.
