Job Description

The Cybersecurity Analyst utilizes in-depth understanding and experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Authorization & Approval (A&A) process as well as the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) process to facilitate certification and security engineering tasks in support of the customer’s system security objectives.

Essential Job Functions:

Prepare A&A and Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documents for NAVSEA activities seeking accreditation by the Navy Authorizing Official (AO) or Functional Authorizing Official (FAO) in accordance with appropriate policies and procedures

Establish and maintain the A&AA package in the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)

Enter and update cyber security controls and system information as needed

Assist in ensuring that Information Assurance (IA) and IA-enabled software, hardware, and firmware comply with appropriate security configuration guidelines

Review results of vulnerability testing and make recommendations on proposed mitigations and system assessments

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required

A High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of sixteen years of experience, an Associate’s Degree with ten years of experience, a Bachelors Degree plus eigh years of experience or a Master’s Degree plus six years of experience is required

Active DoD Secret clearance is required

Must have hands-on experience with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) process including NIST policies on security control selection, implementation and assessment processes, continuous monitoring as they relate to preparing and reviewing/monitoring RMF artifacts/packages

Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in analyzing and securing DoD or Information technology systems for compliance with Cyber Security policies and requirements

Familiarity with documentation such as Categorization Forms, Security Assessment Plans (SAP), A&A plans, risk assessments, determination requests, Security Assessment Report (SAR), Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and other documentation required by the AO and the Certification Authority (CA)

Understanding of computer security, military system specifications, DoD Cyber Security policies and the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in written and oral presentations

Must be proficient in the use of the MS Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Visio) and other tools to develop required system documentation

Certification as an IAT Level II or Level III in accordance with DoD 8570.01

Desired Skills:

Bachelor (BS/BA) degree

Appointment as a Qualified Navy or Marine Corps Validator (intermediate) highly desired
