We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Biomedical Engineer for Instrumentation to join our team in Dayton, OH, at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB).

Essential job functions:

In this role, you will provide hands-on technical support for laboratory and remote-site instrumentation and data acquisition system set-up, operation, and troubleshooting in support of the Aerospace Physiology and Performance Section of the Applied Neuroscience Branch, 711th Human Performance Wing.

You could expect to:

Prepare, calibrate, fabricate, and modify electronic and mechanical sensors and systems for in-house laboratory impact acceleration and vibration test programs.

Collect biodynamic response data at remote-site windblast and rocket sled test facilities (this will necessitate some out-of-state travel, possibly a cumulative 6-8 weeks per year).

Use data acquisition system (DAS) software packages for sensor set-up and data collection.

Work closely with Air Force and outside personnel to ensure all technical program specifications are met in a timely manner.

Job Requirements

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

At least an BS degree in Biomedical Engineering or similar discipline; and at least 2 years of related experience. (We have multiple levels associated with this opportunity. Candidates with advanced degrees or varying experience may be considered for alternative classification.)

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information: NAC.

Proficiency with use and application of standard data collection software packages such as MATLAB.

Possess good computer, analytical, and communication skills, and be proficient in organizing and generating data documentation logs.

Ability to work with diverse team of engineering and technical personnel.

Ability to travel.
