DCS is seeking an experienced Senior System Engineer to join its team in developing Navy Autonomy systems. This position can be hybrid, mostly remote but requiring in-person attendance for meetings (Class and Unclass).
Essential Job Functions:
Contribute to System Engineering as part of a team, contributing to a multi-team, multi-organization enterprise using Agile / Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.
Take ownership of and responsibility for products being developed.
Gain domain knowledge and contribute to providing technical guidance to other engineers, as well as informing and guiding the direction of the Government team.
Represent the team in meetings and presentations as needed, including providing technical analysis & recommendations, and the development & presentation of meeting materials.
Work with other senior engineers and architects to relentlessly improve the product and solution.
Have a willingness to collaborate with other teams, customers and users to produce the desired product that strives to exceed customer expectations.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Engineering degree + 12 years of experience.
Ability to OBTAIN Secret Clearance within 6-9 months of hire date. Active clearance preferred.
Ability to work with a geographically-distributed team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with software systems and architectures.
Desired Skills:
Active Security Clearance is preferred.
Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or Agile Scrum, any SAFe certification is a plus.
Knowledge and understanding of the needs and workflows of military aviators and UAV operators.
Knowledge and understanding of autonomy and software systems.
Knowledge and understanding of UAV systems and payloads.
Knowledge and understanding of Safety of Flight certifications and Security to obtain an Authority to Operate (ATO).
Knowledge of Navy aviation systems, procedures, and other related topics.
Experience with Modeling Based Systems Engineering, SysML, or Cameo.
