Provide support to the U.S. Army office of the Product Manager, Vehicle Protection Systems (PdM VPS) to facilitate the production of a variety of ground vehicle survivability kits.
Essential Job Functions:
Participate in efforts to prepare systems consisting of hardware, electrical and software components for full-scale production.
Review technical data packages (TDPs) to ensure that they are complete and ready for production.
Develop statements of work (SOWs) to define production contract requirements for sourcing to outside contractors and/or Army depots.
Work with contractors in order to facilitate production readiness of the design and coordinate resolution to problems that arise during production.
Work with contractors to help ensure on-time delivery of survivability kits and other deliverables.
Perform review of contractor proposals to ensure completeness and reasonableness of their proposals.
Help coordinate engineering change proposals and ensure that the proposals get incorporated into the production kits.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelors of Science in one of the following engineering disciplines: Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace.
At least 8 years of engineering experience (or at least 6 years of experience with a Masters Degree).
Ability to work with cross-functional team members to obtain desired objectives.
Experience and knowledge of various engineering disciplines: software, electrical, mechanical.
Experience with production efforts.
10% travel.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of the DoD acquisition system.
Knowledge of vehicle protection systems, including passive, reactive and active systems.
Knowledge of ground combat vehicle and tactical vehicle platforms.
