Job Description

Serve as an electro-mechanical fabricator in the F/A & EA-18G Advanced Weapons Lab Facilities Branch.

Essential Job Functions:

Build custom electrical cable harnesses and full avionic system chassis with strong attention to detail.

Interpret complex electrical schematics / drawing packages to develop fabrication process and delivery estimates of completed products.

Fabricate custom electronic assemblies consisting of commercial and military style hardware, using industry tools and soldering.

Assemble custom avionic chassis' and populate commercial cabinets with internal wiring harnesses, PCBs, and relay panels.

Assist engineers with lab modification efforts, to include installing unique wire bundles, in-place wiring changes, and re-configuring equipment racks.

Assist with Quality Assurance checks and troubleshooting on products according to schematics, using multi-meter and oscilloscope.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

High school diploma/GED and a minimum of four (4) years of applicable experience is required.  Will also consider candidate with AS/TS plus two (2) years.

Must be able to be granted a security clearance and maintain one for the duration of employment.

Ability to earn and/or maintain IPC Standard Certifications for soldering, wire harness manufacturing, and PCB assembly to include the Space Addendum.

Ability to read electrical schematics and fabrication drawings.

Knowledge of military style electrical connector tooling, soldering, and fabrication procedures.

Ability to operate basic hand and power tools.

Ability to learn how to operate in-shop equipment (drill press, band saw, label makers).

Desired Skills:

Surface mount soldering experience.

US Military Intermediate or Organizational Electrical Maintenance Technician experience.

F/A-18 & E/A-18G systems familiarity.

Proficiency in common Microsoft Office applications.
