Job Description

Infoscitex, a DCS company, is seeking a Department Manager for our Sensors and Intelligence team.  This is an exciting opportunity with significant visibility and strong potential for upward mobility as Infoscitex (IST) postures for continued growth.  You will lead and expand our business portfolio in this area performing world class research, development and analysis for the Department of Defense and National Security market. 

This position provides you with a dynamic work environment within which you will be responsible for a high technology team of sensor and battlespace model developers, agile software developers, simulation experts, data analysts and other subject matter experts who have established a strong customer base.  You and your team will apply innovative autonomy and machine learning techniques to sensor applications, resource management and signal exploitation technology. 

Essential Job Functions:

In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and development for your staff, overseeing successful contract execution, maintaining and growing excellent customer relationships, successful contract execution, recognizing and capitalizing on market opportunities, understanding competitive positioning, and controlling business costs. 

You could be asked to:

Foster a progressive, productive, collaborative, and technically exciting work environment.

Perform business capture and proposal development activities. 

Conduct mentoring, supervision, and periodic evaluation of subordinates.

Coordinate recruitment of technical staff and manage staffing plans.

Conduct periodic reporting activities to articulate department status to senior management.

Perform Project/Program Management activities and status reporting activities to customers.


Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required

At least a BS degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline and at least 10 years of relevant experience and 7 years managing technical teams.

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information: eligible to attain at least a Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance. 

Ability to contribute directly to addressing the technical requirements on your contracts. 

Applicants must have domain expertise and 10 years work experience in the area of Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR), Airborne / Remote Sensing and/or Sensor Processing / Exploitation. 

Ability to leverage your domain expertise to develop and implement strategies to identify and capture business opportunities within the department’s charter.

Ability to travel, as needed.

Desired Attributes:

Experience managing a variety of government-specific contract types and vehicles (including GSA) established on a cost reimbursable, time and materials and firm-fixed price basis. 

Advanced degree(s) in relevant academic fields.

Experience performing or managing software development and research teams.

Experience conducting or leading military operations research and analysis.

Hold an active Secret or higher level clearance.
