Quality assurance engineers perform tests on various products to assess their quality. They use both exploratory measures and carefully calculated automated tests to examine software, systems, and other items under different circumstances to ensure optimum performance for users.A typical day for a quality assurance engineer may include:
• Creating test scripts or structured plans for testing product quality
• Coordinating ongoing test activities for multiple projects at one time
• Reading and analyzing technical documents, specifications, and published requirements to ensure accuracy and identify prime areas for improvement
• Maintaining records of known bugs, tracking ongoing errors, and performing regression testing to ensure bugs are properly resolved.
