Cognitive Neuroscientist

DCS Corp Dayton, OH (Hybrid) Full-Time

DCS Air and Space Technology Sector is seeking a Cognitive Neuroscientist to support our Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation (NIBS) team’s current research efforts. The NIBS team is responsible for conducting human subject experiments to assess the ability of novel neuromodulation strategies to improve cognition under operationally relevant stressors such as sleep deprivation, physical fatigue, and high workload.

As a member of our team, you will support U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) efforts in Dayton, OH. This offers opportunities to work in a dynamic environment, with state-of-the-art technologies, neuromodulation experts, and Subject Matter Experts (SME). This work focuses on developing research studies and executing them from initial design and data collection to data analysis. Work may include applying machine learning and statistical analysis with focuses on functional MRI research. This position allows for intermittent remote working.

Essential Job Functions:

Conduct data collection for ongoing studies within the NIBS team.

Aid in study set up and design for upcoming studies within the NIBS team.

Aid in machine learning and statistical analysis of current and future data sets.

Aid in functional MRI data collection, preprocessing, cleaning, and analysis.

Support the team in protocol writing, proposal writing, conference materials, and publications.

Additional Duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

At least a B.S. degree in a related discipline and least 2 years of related experience in human subject research.

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.  

Experience working in a lab utilizing computing languages such as Python, MATLAB, SQL for task design and data analysis.

Ability to adhere to IRB requirements and standards.

Ability and desire to work in a group environment.

Possession of excellent English oral and written communication skills.

Desired Skills:

A PhD degree in STEM-focused studies is preferred.

Familiarity with non-invasive brain stimulation techniques (tVNS, tDCS, etc.).
