Security Specialist
DCS is seeking a skilled Security Specialist to support a fast-paced Army product management office in Huntsville, Alabama. In this role you will serve as a multidisciplinary Security Specialist providing support to personnel, operational, information, and physical security programs. We are looking for a proactive individual with a strong security background coupled with a positive, can-do attitude to join our dynamic team.
Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for the implementation and management of a comprehensive security protection program.
Coordinates with the Special Security Officer (SSO) on all Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)-related matters (i.e., visits, indoctrinations, and debriefs). May perform duties related to Communications Security (COMSEC) and/or TEMPEST, such as implementing policies and COMSEC hand receipt holder or coordinating with Counterintelligence to complete a TEMPEST review.
Supports the implementation of information, personnel, and industrial security programs to ensure classified material is protected according to DoD and Army directives.
Ensures the Emergency Action Plans (EAP) are updated and coordinates EAP drills on an annual basis.
Manages and monitors the organizations information, operational, physical, and personnel security programs to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Serves as the security focal point, analyzes security procedures, and coordinates/recommends solutions on security deficiencies with the assigned Government security task lead.
Manages security programs through implementation and administration of plans, objectives, instructions, policy, procedures, program reviews, and inspections.
Manages and performs command inspection program as it relates to the intelligence and security disciplines.
Implements command-wide policies and procedures for marking, handling, safeguarding, transmitting, reproducing, and destroying unclassified and classified information.
Monitors inquiries into security violations, reviews report of findings for corrective action, and recommends if further investigative action is required
Manages daily security operations including personal, information, physical, and Operational Security (OPSEC), Force Protection/Anti-Terrorism, Continuity of Operations (COOP), and Emergency Management.
Provides support in the implementation of the organizations physical security program as it pertains to the protection of classified information and material.
Establishes and conducts a comprehensive security education program for the organization, which includes formal training classes for all ranks in support of security education and awareness programs.
Maintains an active Defense Information System for Security (DISS) account and assists with verifying personnel security clearances.
Assists with processing personnel security investigation documents reviewing the investigation documents for accuracy and tracking submitted requests for personnel security clearances.
Ensures all personnel clearances are in scope and processes CV updates for individuals prior to their security clearance going out of scope.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Active Top Secret clearance.
High school +13 years of experience in a related field with two years of relevant experience performing DoD security functions.
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
Operations Security Level II Certification
Anti-Terrorism Level II Certification
Defense Security Service (DSS), Security Professional Education Development Program Certification
Security Fundamentals Professional Certification in the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), Security Professional Education Development Program.
STEPP, Facility Security Officer Program Management for Possessing Facilities training.
