System Technical Support Engineer
DCS is seeking an energetic, proactive System Technical Support Engineer position to ensure smooth and efficient system operations within a fast-paced project office. In this role, you will resolve network issues, configure operating systems, use remote desktop connections to provide immediate support, and set up new desktops and laptops for users. System Technical Support Engineer plays a vital role in maintaining the technological tools and systems the organization uses to conduct its operations. Ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, good problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills to effectively troubleshoot and resolve issues in an efficient and professional manner.
Essential Job Functions:
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account set up and network configuration.
Evaluate and troubleshoot technical issues related to hardware, software, networking, and other IT-related equipment.
Provide timely technical support for users and work with them to solve existing problems.
Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution.
Assist users in installing and using new software or hardware and collaborate with other IT team members to resolve technical issues.
Conduct IT maintenance activities, software upgrades, and security patching.
Test and evaluate new technology and smoke testing.
Recommend improvements for the IT system and user training.
Develop and maintain local networks to optimize performance.
Contribute to the creation and updating of user manuals and guidelines.
Provide training and assistance to users to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Talk clients through a series of actions, either via phone, email, or chat until resolved.
Set up new users’ accounts and profiles and handle password issues.
Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
Respond in a timely manner to service issues and requests and provide in person or remote technical support across the company.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
BS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering.
1+ years of proven work experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician or similar role.
Hands-on experience with MS Windows 11 OS /MS SQL 2019/Windows Server 2019 OS/Army Gold Master.
Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, printers and other technology products.
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues.
Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Certification in Microsoft Windows, Cisco CCNA, Security + is a must and similar technologies Certifications is a plus.
