Ordnance Technician
Salary: $69,230 - 117,886.00
Provide Ordnance & Weapons support to the Air Vehicle Stores Compatibility, Fighter & Attack Branch 2 in the Test & Evaluation Division of the Naval Test Wing, Atlantic, located at NAS Patuxent River, MD.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform pre-/ post-flight inspections for aircraft with loaded Bomb Rack Units.
Attend priority / scheduling meetings to support creation of weapon configuration sheets.
Maintain a database for tracking Auxiliary Mission Equipment (AME) / Suspension & Release Equipment (S&RE) (i.e., pylons, adapters, bomb racks, launchers) and weapons.
Coordinate the shipping and receiving of AME / S&RE and Support Equipment and the on-site repair, maintenance, and instrumentation of AME / S&RE / Weapons with F-35 JPO, Lockheed Martin, Flight Test Instrumentation, Navy Munitions Command and Weapon Prime Vendors.
Attend AME / S&RE meetings to support the management of AME / S&RE.
Manage the storage, build-up, movement, and loading of all F-35 weapons.
Support U.S. and foreign F-35 ordnance-related test requirements.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
A High School Diploma or GED plus 12 years of experience or an Associate's degree plus 10 years of experience is required.
Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance within 6-9 months of hire.
Knowledge of planning and execution of stores compatibility ground and flight tests.
Knowledge of ordnance SOPs, government policies and instructions.
Knowledge of weapon loading and handling and the operation of support equipment.
Must be able to travel (approx. 1-2 times per year) for as many as 30 days.
Must be medically qualified to deploy aboard U.S. and Foreign Navy ships.
