Job Description

Provide Technical Data Package (TDP) engineering technician service support for GVSC's sustainment engineering line of effort. Using web based tools, perform administrative processing and data management tasks for technical data requests from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM).

Essential Job Functions:

Follow and use SIDM team Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as guidance to execute the SIDM engineering technician tasks. The government will provide these SIDM SOPs on the team SharePoint site.

Access DLA PDMI web based system to copy over the technical data request (known as a case) into the GVSC Windchill system. Once the data is in Windchill, review the data for accuracy and completeness.

Process the DLA and TACOM (these enter Windchill automatically) cases by adding additional administrative detail and forward to the correct engineering team to complete the engineering tasks.

Accomplish other administrative tasks related to processing technical data cases. These tasks include, but are not limited to, updating the status in PDMI, answering customer questions, routing requests to various teams when there is an issue with standard routing, performing additional research for the case, etc.

Using Windchill, apply software tools to pull the data for Technical Data Packages (TDPs) for DLA and TACOM requests, spot check the various TDP documents for administrative correctness (latest versions, distribution markings, drawing legend accuracy, etc.), and ensure the data adheres to GVSC configuration management standards & guidelines.

If there is an issue with the TDP or the data’s configuration, make corrections within assigned permissions and for other corrections, route the case to the correct Configuration Management, Technical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or Transportation Engineering team to make the corrections.
