The Human Systems Integration Engineer III integrates human considerations during the engineering and development of NAVWAR systems by conducting comprehensive assessments of requirements, concepts and resources across multiple domains.

Essential Job Functions:

Provides recommendations to policy and products intended to resolve enterprise-wide process and procedural challenges, issues, and conflicts.

Assesses and provides advice in the development, review and publishing of Naval Operational Architectures (NOA), standards, competency development models, policy, and processes to ensure consistency among tightly coupled work products for efforts in the RDT&E life cycle.

May participate in design, development, test, implementation, and documentation of network/web-based collaboration tools/platforms for NAVWAR engineering and business operations efforts in RDT&E.

Provides functional knowledge and technical support for developing enterprise architectures to support MBSE efforts.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

ABET accredited BS in an engineering discipline or BS in physical science, engineering, or mathematics required and 6 years in Government related Research and Development (R&D), Test and Evaluation (T&E), and systems acquisition programs.

Requires a minimum of 4 years relevant Human Systems Integration (HIS) engineering experience which should include experience in at least 3 of the following:

  • HSI design, installation, integration, and test support.
  • Multi-domain HSI engineering analysis, impact assessments, tradeoff studies of complex systems.
  • Development of design documentation/specifications.
  • HSI-related engineering requirements, performance and risk analysis.
  • HSI test planning and test procedures development, test conduct, analysis, and reporting.
  • Understand Naval operations from unit through operational staff and HQ levels.
  • Conducting mission task analysis, top-down functional analysis, and critical task analysis.

Familiarity with systems of systems (SoS) interface management controls, processes and products used to document interface standards, controlling parameters, and interface agreements.

Understanding of risks associated with the development and implementation of the NOA Architecture.

Experience with evaluation of cybersecurity technical approaches to support  system design and development efforts.

Knowledge of certification related functions involved in the NAVWAR Information Assurance Technical Authority mission and process such as Risk Management Framework (RMF), Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR), cyber risk to mission, and cybersecurity readiness.

Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly in written and oral presentations.

Desired Skills:

Familiarity with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) system documentation.
