Physicists - SME
Salary Range: $134,548 - $200,000
Essential Job Functions:
Conducts research into physical phenomena, develop theories on the basis of observation and experiments, and devise methods to apply physical laws and theories as they relate to weapons, weapons systems, and RDT&E.
Provide SME support to the TPO regarding all aspects of inventory management including (but not limited to) ordnance assessment, reliability assessments and predictions, performance assessment, repairs, ORDALTs, aging, etc.
Provide SME support on missile components including (but not limited to) AOTD, ESAD, ISD, warhead, guidance and control section.
Provide SME support regarding general standard and objectives including (but not limited to), engineering practices, effective documentation standards and practices, effective system engineering, effective TDA process & results, configuration management, effective program management and use of the SETR process, etc.
Provide SME support and historical information/perspective regarding past RAM efforts from 1986 to 2024 including (but not limited to) design, qualification, ground and flight testing, production, configurations, performance, etc.
Work on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently.
Oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required along with at least twenty (20) years of practical experience.
A SME is an individual whose qualifications and/or particular expertise are exceptional and/or highly unique. SMEs have a minimum of 20 years of experience working in their specific area of weapons systems.
Must have experience that is applicable to U.S. Military or U.S. Government applications within one or more of the following areas: System Engineering, Test Engineering, Transition Engineering, Management Analysis, Training Services.
