Robotics Engineer Intern

DCS Corp Sterling Heights, MI (Onsite) Intern

DCS develops Army Robotics Common Software (ARCS), which is the Ground Vehicle Systems Center's (GVSC) library of modular software package that can be used for common ground autonomy software.  The United States Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC), located in Warren, Michigan, is the United States Armed Forces’ research and development facility for advanced technology in ground systems. GVSC is dedicated to getting robotics capability into the hands of Soldiers.

Essential Job Functions:

You will work on software development as well as in-vehicle integration topics for autonomous ground vehicle systems with a focus on perception as well as path planning applications.

Develop autonomous ground vehicle software based on ROS.

Work closely with customer and other suppliers to develop strong working relationships.

Travel up to 25% to perform vehicle SW integration and test at customer and government site.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.

Junior or Senior year candidate for bachelor’s degree in computer science.

Experience in C++, Python.

Understanding of perception and/or path planning applications for autonomous systems.

Desired Skills:

Experience working with Git, Docker, Agile, Bitbucket, Jira, software in the loop.

Robotics and autonomous systems experience e.g ROS.
