Intern - Linux System Administration

DCS is looking for an intern to work with the Corporate IT Linux Infrastructure team.  The candidate will learn the basics of Linux System Administration in a Secure Enterprise Environment.

The successful candidate should have:

1. Basic or Beginner knowledge of any Linux distribution.
   1. Examples of distributions include, but are not limited to Red Hat, Fedora or Ubuntu.
   2. Basic or Beginner knowledge can include, but are not limited to, having used a Linux computer for a class, having installed Linux, having used a Live CD to test drive a Linux distribution or similar basic familiarity or usage of a Linux Operating System.
2. A desire to learn Linux system administration and operations. 

The outstanding candidate will have familiarity with any of the following skills at a Basic, Beginner or higher level:

1. Using the Command Line Interface in Linux
2. Network Troubleshooting with Ping, Traceroute, netcat or other command line tools
3. curl and wget
4. bash
5. Tmux
6. Ansible
7. Using ssh with keys to connect to remote systems
8. Any Linux related skill or ability that would demonstrate more than a passing familiarity with the Linux Operating System

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Must have 0 to 1 years of familiarity working with, using, administering, installing, or maintaining a Red Hat, Ubuntu or another similar Linux distribution (such as Centos or other Debian derivatives). 

Applicants with relevant collegiate coursework, certifications and/or related volunteer work can be considered.

Pay Range and Benefits: There are a variety of factors that can influence salary at DCS Corp, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

Salary Range: $25 a hour.
