Aircraft Flutter Engineer

The Aircraft Flutter Engineer shall support the Air Force Seek Eagle Evaluation of Compatibility and Technical Advisory process by contributing to modeling and simulation activities and evaluating aircraft/store configurations to determine aircraft dynamic response and aero-elasticity characteristics.

The work performed will be in direct support to the Air Force Seek Eagle Program.

Essential Job Functions:

Conduct analyses, research data, run and edit computer simulation programs, and write justification to support flight certification recommendations.

The ideal candidate will be accustomed to software development and finite element analysis methods.

Must be able to work directly with contractor and Government personnel in a mixed badge environment to accomplish aircraft/weapons compatibility certifications. 

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required. 

Entry-level candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering.

Must be able to obtain a DoD SECRET Security Clearance.

Advanced thinking and problem-solving ability.

Experience operating in Linux/Unix environments using scripting languages (Windows, Python, Perl, etc.).

Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.

Very good attention to detail and a candidate who takes ownership and pride in his/her work.

Travel may be up to 20%.

Desired Skills:

Structural dynamics and/or unsteady aerodynamics experience with a Master’s degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering is highly desired.

Working experience, internships or graduate research projects that provided experience in aircraft dynamics, aero-elasticity, or related experience is desired.

Proficiency using finite element analysis tools such as NASTRAN is also desired.
