5th Gen Suitability/LO/Avionics Analyst
Salary: $87,934 - $140,000
Provide Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) to the United Operational Test Team (UOTT) with full-time data collection, data evaluation, analysis, data entry, and reporting to support operational test of 5th Gen fighter aircraft systems and missions under test at Edwards Air Force Base. Track system Suitability for assigned roles and missions through close collaboration with VX-9 maintainers and pilots. The suitability domain is comprised of reliability, availability, compatibility, transportability, interoperability, wartime usage rates, maintainability, safety, human factors, manpower supportability, logistics supportability, documentation, environmental effects, and training requirements. The successful candidate will follow aircraft schedules to capitalized on data collection opportunities before and after sortie completion. Knowledge of operational test report planning, test execution, test process and procedures improvement, and test reporting are necessary for this role.
Essential Job Functions:
Collect aircraft suitability data at Edwards Air Force Base through collection of data, including system logs, pilot feedback, and maintainer inputs.
Compare collected data to established count rules, entering data into established databases where appropriate.
Collaborate with the F-35 operational test community to discuss count rules for inclusion of collected data into databases supporting system evaluation.
Assimilate data and author narratives to support data adjudication processes, report writing, and revision to test approaches where appropriate.
Provide inputs to measures working groups in support of future test planning.
Assist with data visualizations based on collected data in support of briefings to leadership, including the UOTT Director and Deputy Director.
Assist with developing test plan and data analysis management plans, developing data analysis tools and methodologies, collecting, analyzing and managing test data, creating reporting products from applicable test data to achieve test objectives, and provide written test report inputs that augment the generated technical products.
Activities will include coordinating with internal and external organizations/agencies including other locations, liaising with other services, and travelling to test locations.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
High School diploma/GED and 22 years of relevant experience, an Associate's degree plus 22 years, a Bachelor’s degree plus 18 years or a Master’s Degree plus 10 years of relevant experience.
Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Active Top Secret Clearance.
Candidates with a minimum of 7 years working in or with the U.S. Military in sortie generation/flightline aircraft maintenance fields, Low Observable maintenance experience is necessary.
Previous fighter aircraft combat deployment experience and/or fighter aircraft operational test experience is highly desired.
Prior fighter aircraft test experience is desired.
