Textile Engineer

DCS Corp Natick, MA (Onsite) Full-Time

DCS is seeking a skilled Textile Engineer to join our fast-paced acquisition program office. You will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the textile engineering process for assigned programs. The ideal candidate is an energetic, self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills.

Essential Job Functions:

Assists in the research, design, development, fabrication, test and evaluation, and materials integration of complex systems for a variety of warfighter and Soldier platforms.

Assists with materiel system investigations and analysis to determine the feasibility of various advanced technological and product development approaches, to define design concepts and criteria for future programs, or to resolve major controversial problems in current programs.

Reviews and evaluates system performance against specification requirements, monitors and assesses field performance, and assesses risk of meeting user and specification requirements.

Identifying material/end-item deficiencies, proposing sound technological concepts, recommending development programs to be undertaken, and preparing funding estimates and time phasing requirements for achieving significant improvements.

Initiates engineering change proposals and waivers/deviations as required.

Assists in the development of joint programs with industry to facilitate research in manufacturing processes and transitions the fabrication methodology for the manufacture of military clothing.

Assists in the management of program and project fiscal resources allocated for RDTE programs and customer projects.

Delivers briefings and prepares reports including interpretations, conclusions, and recommendations.

Maintains active contact with industry, academia, and other organizations involved with research and development of related areas.

Assists in the review of program management documents to ensure accuracy and adequacy of technical content.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent field and 5 years of relevant experience.

Must have a DoD Secret clearance.
