Job Description

Technical Writer will work as a member of a team responsible for all F-18 Integrated Product Team (IPT) documents, briefs, manuals, and training materials produced, maintained, and utilized by the organization.

Essential Job Functions:

Conduct detailed, full edits of IPT documents and presentations for grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, format, etc.

Conduct Functional Requirements Management in document form.

Create, modify, and work from document templates and train staff members how to use them.

Serve as a Microsoft Word expert able to answer staff questions.

Assist staff members with documentation of new processes.

Assist team members with version control.

Record, track, and publish, as required, action items, decisions, and minutes for required meetings and events.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of experience and expert level understanding of Microsoft Word.

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Familiarity with Microsoft Visio, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent communication skills across all levels of management.

Self-motivated, comfortable working independently, or in a group.

Attention-detailed editor able to work on multiple assignments simultaneously.

Excellent writing skills.  Able to write clearly and concisely for a technical audience.

Desired Skills:

Previous F-18 or technical government acquisition experience.

Certificate in Editing.

Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style.
