In this position you will provide full-spectrum Systems Engineering Support to USAF Sensors Open System Architecture (SOSA) within the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio.

Essential Job Functions:

This is an entry-level engineering position.

Assist with the technical management of the Sensor Open System Architecture (SOSA) technology development that will provide the warfighter and Intelligence Community with an effective means of developing common set of Open Architecture Standards for ISR/SOF.

Interface with industry and standards developers to ensure compatibility and harmonization of existing standards and regulations/policy.

Assist in the review of existing electrical/mechanical/system standards for Open Architecture systems for physical mounting, connectors, and wiring solutions to develop a common physical/mechanical/electrical pinout/cabling interface standardization proposal to the SOSA Electrical/Mechanical working group.

Develop and apply knowledge and experience with hardware development, systems engineering, requirements, and national, theater, and tactical level intelligence systems, methods, and practices.

Learn, assimilate, and apply the principles, criteria, and procedures of the DoD acquisition enterprise, as well as the policies and processes of USAF, HQ Air Force Material Command (AFMC), the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Engineering Directorate, and the USAF Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance and Special Operations Forces (ISR & SOF) Directorate to all engineering tasks.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university.

An active SECRET clearance adjudicated within the previous five (5) calendar years is required on the first day of employment.

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

This position requires data gathering, data analysis, and the logical and reasoned application of systems engineering knowledge in an acquisition environment.

Desired Skills:

Experience managing advanced technology sensor projects and the development of sensor components and mounting systems, to include integration on manned or unmanned air vehicles in areas such as integrated subsystem controls, avionics, communications/data link integration, and electrical power integration.

Experience translating DoD user requirements into system requirements which will be used by the weapon system contractor to design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate systems, subsystems, and equipment for deployment.

Familiarity with multiple intelligence disciplines to include, but not limited to: Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Imagery Intelligence (IMINT), Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT), Hyperspectral Imaging, and Sense and Avoid (SAA) Systems.

Experience with US Air Force sensor programs for manned or unmanned aircraft
