Job Description

Infoscitex, a DCS company, has an opportunity for a Software Engineer to develop, maintain and enhance modeling and simulation solutions for aerospace technologies research.

In this role you will support research work designing and developing software and integrating off-the-shelf hardware systems. This work focuses on the development of virtual simulations to build and support dynamic, interactive experimental environments that focus on a militarily-relevant context. This includes in-house stand-alone virtual simulations and distributed virtual simulations that allow teams of participants to interact in a shared virtual environment. Our work environment is dynamic with opportunities to work with state of the art simulation technologies and simulation integration experts.

Essential Job Functions:

Participate within a software development team to design, develop, test and deploy assigned modeling and simulation development tasks.

Maintain personally developed software using team-version control software within the computing environment.

Collaborate with subject matter experts such as pilots and technologists to identify necessary requirements for implementation in models and simulations.

Perform software component tests and system integration tests for adherence to specifications.

Recommend new technologies and novel approaches for complex system requirements.

Apply software best practices, such as version control, documentation, etc., for all developed and modified software.

Some short-term intermittent travel may be required.

Job Requirements

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

BS degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical discipline. At least some related programming experience. (We have multiple levels associated with this opportunity. Candidates with advanced degrees or less or more experience may be considered for alternative classification).

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information: eligible to attain a Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance.

Experience with object-oriented software in C/C++.

Ability to work well in team environments.

Ability to travel, as required.

Although not firm requirements for consideration, we feel an ideal candidate would also bring:

Familiarity with OpenGL and Open Scene Graph.

Experience developing with Java or C#.

Experience with CMake or AFSIM.

Experience with software version control tools.
