Infoscitex is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and test C# code. This is an opportunity to join a growing, cutting-edge team in creating next-generation autonomy technologies. As a member of our team, you will work in Dayton, OH in a multidisciplinary team including software development and materials research experts. Your work will support production of new autonomy software for the Air Force Research Laboratory, and involves developing state-of-the-art UIs, interaction and control software, and framework components in support of a larger autonomy effort tied to materials research applications.

Essential Job Functions:

In this role, you can expect to:

Build user interfaces in C#/.NET using WPF.

Design and implement plugin components to expand application of software to new research platforms.

Scope and develop algorithms and processes for experiment control, data analysis, and experiment planning.

Employ best practices in the industry to ensure maximum code reusability, extensibility, and modularity.


Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline and at least two years of related experience.  (We have multiple levels associated with this opportunity category. Candidates with advanced degrees or varied levels of experience may be considered for alternative classification.)

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. DoD Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information: ability to attain at least a U.S. DoD Secret level clearance.

Experience programming with C# and/or Java.

Ability to apply technical standards, principles, theories and techniques.

Creative problem-solving capabilities.

Strong math and analytical skills.

Ability to participate in limited short-term intermittent travel.

Although not firm requirements for consideration, we feel an ideal candidate would also bring the following attributes:

Knowledge of WPF, Git, NuGet, and Visual Studio.

Knowledge of SOLID principles.

Understanding of Dependency Injection and Inversion of Control concepts.

Knowledge of common design patterns used in software development.
