Job Description

DCS Corporation is looking for an emerging subject matter expert with a physical modeling and simulation software engineering background to support the development of wearable systems and mobile communication applications, supporting key accounts across the USG, as well as developing and designing new technology applications in line with DCS Systems Engineering Department.

Location is the MetroWest Boston area (I-495/Rte-2).

Essential Job Functions:

Work within a small team of interdisciplinary engineers to develop control system, models and simulation software for a wearable control system application

Evaluate and develop models and simulations for physical processes (thermodynamic, electrical, and mechanical)

Evaluate and develop control system methodologies to meet application needs

Develop model-based-design simulation tools to test control algorithms, model quality and system performance

Assist with test plan development of characterization, developmental and system tests for model/simulation validation and characteristics dataset generation

Assist with integration of solutions into experimental hardware.

Perform tests, collect data and develop tools as needed to process data into desired results

Write progress summaries, reports, plans, specifications and requirements.

Required Skills: 

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.

This position requires an active DOD Secret clearance.

BS degree in computer science, electrical, mechanical or computer engineering paired with 2-4 years work/internship experience

Background in developing physical models and simulations

Solid working experience developing software with suitable modeling and simulation tools and languages (including C++, MATLAB, Simulink, Python)

Solid control system algorithm development experience

Familiarity with version control (Mercurial, git)

Familiarity with test system development (LabView)

Experience in working independently in small cross-functional teams and environments

Desired Skills: 

Additional relevant experience in embedded development, sensor development, wearable technology, and contract R&D
