Job Description

The Senior Systems Administrator performs systems administration tasks for desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks and is responsible for system management involving account monitoring, security, Operating System (OS)installation, and other local area network administration related functions.

Essential Job Functions:

Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems and manages IT system infrastructure and related processes.

Provide support for IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.

Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis/problem resolution and when required supports escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.

Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems; installs/loads operating system and application software; isolate and resolve hardware and software problems involving the applications, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or any combination thereof.

Troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Responsible for the design and implementation of systems, mission architecture and associated hardware; Integrating new technologies into new and existing systems including the transition and migration of corporate systems.

Job Requirements

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

An Associate's degree and 14 years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of experience.

The position has a mandatory requirement for a current/active TS clearance with SCI access.

Must possess expert working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and be able to analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration.

Must have experience with Windows Server/Desktop, Linux, Cloud Management, OS Patching, and application installation.

Requires experience working in an Agile environment.

Must have current DODD 8570 compliant certification/training (IAT Level 2 preferred); must be DODD 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2) by date of security indoctrination with any necessary continuing education (CE) for certification.

Must possess AWS Cloud certification and have experience with ArcGIS, GeoServer, and JPEG 2000 Internet Protocol (JPIP) tools.
