Job Description

Seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join existing Scrum teams focused on software modeling and web application development.

Essential Job Functions:

Assist the team in assessing their ‘Scrum Maturity’ and higher levels of maturity.

Facilitate scrum activities when necessary.

Remove impediments for the scrum team.

Assist product owner to make sure the product backlogs are in good shape and ready for the next sprint.

Improve transparency within the team.

Build a safe and trusting environment where conflicts can be managed in a healthy way without fear of blame.

Support and coach the Product Owner on Agile/Scrum practices.

Recommend improvements and drive alignment across the organization.

Job Requirements

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience. Candidates with Associates degree plus 7 years of experience will also be considered or a High School Diploma/GED plus 13 years of experience.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Experienced in a Scrum Master role for at least two years for a software development team.

Must be able to focus on fostering an agile environment and willing to mentor other potential Scrum Masters to help the organization improve adaption of Agile Scrum methodologies.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential so that an effective working environment is established that embraces and employs Scrum principles.

Knowledge and experience with Agile techniques – Automated Testing, User Stories, Continuous Integration, Agile Games.

Knowledge of various Agile approaches.

Ability to create useful, reliable and practical plans for software development projects.

Ability to guide and coach the team to follow Agile/Scrum practices and to become self-organized.

Strong communication skills to effectively hold team together and ability to deal with conflict resolution by focusing on scrum values of openness, honesty and respect.

Desired Skills:

JIRA/Confluence experience Lead and influence others including those more senior on best practices.

Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
