Job Description

The Process Improvement Lead (PIL) is the focal point for initiating and sustaining process improvement activities for the F/A-18 Integrated Product Team(IPT) Software Development Team (SWDT). The PIL develops, coordinates and executes a comprehensive continuous process improvement and sustainment strategy for the software development team.

Essential Job Functions:

Coordinates updates to the SWDT Process Manual.

Leads the Process Support Group (PSG) in accordance with its charter as defined in the SWDT Process Manual.

Ensure that the PSG serves at the focal point for coordination of assessments of the SWDT processes.

Ensure that the history of process improvement efforts is captured through the PSG.

Participate in peer reviews of project documentation to ensure consistency with the SWDT Process Manual.

Ensure the SWDT training program key elements are reviewed and updated at least every two (2) years.

Ensure monthly SWDT required trainings are communicated and tracked.

Develop Annual Process Improvement Action Plans.

Ensure SWDT organizational documents are reviewed and up to date every (2) years.

Leads the DO-178B Working Group Meetings.

Serve as liaison with F/A-18 IPT Product Integrity Team Lead to ensure that SWDT processes are consistent and compliant with F/A-18 IPT processes and process improvement activities.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Must have a high school diploma/GED plus 13 years of relevant experience. Will also consider an Associates degree plus 7 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor degree plus 5 years of relevant experience.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Must have the ability to work independently within a team environment.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools.

Effective communication skills - oral and written, organized, self-motivated and detail oriented.
