Job Description

The Operational Technical Specialist performs a variety of test and evaluation functions as a member of a dynamic team in support of the Integration of small Unmanned Aircraft Systems into Joint Airspace (sUAS), Quick Reaction Test (QRT) during execution of all phases of the sUAS QRT Project.

Essential Job Functions:

Executes liaison to the warfighter community during event planning, research, and developing non-material test articles to support the QRT process .

Works with test planners to identify warfighter problems and develop test issues, test plan, analysis plan, data management plan, and other test products .

Participates in sUAS QRT execution activities including: developing test issues, operational effectiveness measures, contributes to the initial Project Plan.

Attends QRT process meetings such as the Joint Warfighter Advisory Group, Interfaces with Service and JT&E officials during the conduct of test planning and reviews.

Participates in the development/modification, validation, testing, analysis, refinement and transition of Tactics Techniques and Procedures (TTP) and other test products from the test team to the warfighter community.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

A High School Diploma or GED with at least 13 years of relevant operational experience, an Associate’s Degree plus 7 years, a Bachelor’s Degree plus 5 years or a Master’s Degree plus 4 years of experience is required.

Operational background in one or more of the following areas: planning and implementing airspace usage, sUAS operations, military air traffic control, Marine Air Command and Control System (MACCS) and Airspace planning and C2.

Familiarity with Joint Publications 3-52 and 3-30.

Experience with the analysis and development of TTPs, Tactical Standard Operating Procedures (TACSOP), and Concept of Operations (CONOPS).

Working knowledge of MS Office suite of products

Position requires an active SECRET clearance

Desired Skills:

Previous JT&E or OT&E experience is highly desired.

Familiarity with Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron (MAWTS) organization and mission.

BS/BA Degree.
