Large project requires a Network Radio Engineer/Technical Specialist for the integration of Wireless Networks in support of next generation Ground Combat Vehicle research and development.

Essential Job Functions:

This is an opportunity to join the fast-paced world of Ground Vehicle Electronics Wireless Network solutions with DCS Corp’s Army Ground Combat Systems engineering group located in Warren, MI. You will work alongside our U.S. Army Advanced Vehicle Electronics customer and be rewarded with a technically challenging and diverse career in the areas of ground vehicle wireless communication and networking.  In this position, you will serve as part of the Army Team responsible for all aspects of C4/C5 engineering.This includes researching, architecting, trade analysis, designing, developing, testing, and transitioning ground vehicle electronics technology across all domains for the current and Future Force.

As the Wireless Communication Network Engineer, you will be responsible the progress, development, and advancement of inter- and intra- ground vehicle communication. This position is bounded by the use and integration of existing products/technologies in potentially new and creative ways, but not the advancement of science.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, organizations and industry stakeholders to understand requirements to advance the technologies and solutions of Army Ground Vehicle Electronic Solutions.

Display attention to detail and an analytical mind to capture and publish requirements for program goals and objectives to create superior ground vehicle electronic solutions and architectures. 

Passion for technology design, develop, integrate, and deploy to the field.

Comply with project direction and planned cost, schedule, and performance milestones.

Provide leadership, guidance and direction to engineers working other disciplines, junior engineers and inexperienced teammates on communication interdependencies.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance.

Experience and detailed background knowledge of IP Networking and Routing Protocols/Requirements and best practices for optimization.

Bachelor of Science degree or higher in related engineering or science discipline. Candidates with advanced degrees should be aware that position is bounded by the use of existing products/technologies and will not require more than an undergraduate understanding of the principles of radio and data networking.

Minimum 8 years of  industry experience.

Problem solving skills with emphasis on analysis, COA development and decision presentations.

Proficient in MS Office (Project, Word, Excel, VISIO, PowerPoint).

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Be able to independently define and plan work assignments.

Program management skills especially as it relates to cost, schedule, risk, planning and execution.

Ability to Travel to various customer and contractor facilities and test centers (10% Travel).

Desired Skills:

Prior Military Radio system experience – especially with configuration, maintenance, security, and storage. Preference given to candidates with experience with SINCGARS, EPLRS, or any Harris Future Facing secure systems.

Prior experience with large project lifecycle from concept through integration and test for wireless network integration.

Prior Military Service and/or current DOD civilian or sub-contractor.

Prior experience with EMI/EMC mitigation design for RFI emission immunity.

Knowledge of the US Army PEO/PM structure and their respective product lines and needs.
