Job Description

Position Description: Mission Systems System Engineer supporting Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) integration efforts for the F/A-18 and EA-18G Unique Planning Components and Mission Planning Environments.

Essential Job Functions

Work closely with the Mission Systems Team Lead, Software Configuration Set (SCS) Block Leads, System Product Leads and Program Sponsors.

Test and evaluate aircraft systems using system engineering principles to optimize performance, cost, quality, safety.

Research and develop test objectives to determine if system requirements have been achieved in accordance with approved Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs).

Conduct lab, ground, and flight testing of system hardware and software components.

Develop and document test points and test procedures for hardware and software components, and evaluate system performance Monitor system deficiencies to determine problems, and retest corrected problems to ensure proper software functionality.

Develop post-mission report writing, submission of Software Anomaly Reports (SARs), data collection, analysis, and posting of data to the common data sharing system.

Serve as SOR team member or lead maintaining oversight of system requirements and providing inputs to requirement reviews, document reviews, SETR-T milestones, test plans, etc.…

Participate in weekly meetings supporting the MS team, SCS leads, Product leads, system developers, and contractors.

Review and provide inputs/recommendations on system requirement documents (NATIP, TEMP, MSOFD, MPOFD, FRD, etc.) to ensure accuracy Interact with JMPS-UPC representatives such as CUPC, ARM, ETIRMS, AEA, etc. as needed.

Learn and maintain proficiency in the use of data analysis tools and software programs supporting mission planning.

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to local and external personnel at designated test sites including NAWC Patuxent River and NAWCWD - Pt. Mugu as well as other sites.

Job Requirements:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5 years of experience is required. A Master's degree with 4 years or a PhD and 2 years of experience will also be considered.

Must be eligible for a security clearance and be able to maintain the clearance for the duration of employment.

Systems Integration Test experience is highly desired.

Experience with Joint Mission Planning Systems on the F/A-18 and EA-18G is highly desired.
