Job Description

DCS Corporation has an opportunity for a Mission Planning Software Engineer supporting the Nuclear Weapons Acquisition Division, AFLCMC/NDB, which is part of the AF Nuclear Weapons Center.  This Division has responsibility for developing, testing, and producing systems and components related to nuclear strategic weapon systems for our nation's warfighters.  These products include the B61-12 Tailkit Assembly and the Long-Range Standoff (LRSO) missile.

Essential Job Functions:

Assisting in the AFNWC/NDB oversight of the  LRSO  Prime contractor’s work to develop the application to integrate cruise missile routes generated on USSTRATCOM’s Air-vehicle Planning System (APS) onto the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) for viewing by the operator and transfer of  generated  routes onto the bomber aircraft’s Data Transfer Device (DTD).

Performs software technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, supportability and effectiveness analysis for the total system: APS to JMPS to DTD  to the aircraft.

Performs Software Engineering related tasks in support of one or more of the following: armament embedded systems (MIL-STDs 1553, 1760, and UAI), systems security, systems interoperability and integration, aircraft and store integration, mission planning systems, modeling for Integrated Flight Simulation, and acquisition life-cycle and logistics product support.

Must be willing/able to travel as required (normally approx 20% with up to 50%) and able to rent/operate rental cars while on travel.

Must be able to work flexible and varied hours.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

A Bacherlor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience ir a Master's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience is required.

Active DOD Secret Clearance and ability to gain Top Secret and/or other access eligibility for the program, if required.

Familiarity with the JMPS software suite.

Understanding, analysis, and application of languages such as C, C++, C#, JAVA, VB, .Net Development Environment, HTML, .XML, and .CRD/.RTE formats for mission planning in both the Windows and LINUX environments.

Familiarity with defense industry software development processes, e.g., Agile (SAFe) and Waterfall approaches to Software Development.

Must  be able to  comfortably and effectively  communicate  with senior military leadership  both orally and in writing.

Desired Skills:

A Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of experience, a Master's degree and 10+ years of experience or a Ph.D. and 5+ years of relevant experience is required.

Current Top Secret Clearance.

Experience in Force-Level Automated Mission Planning Systems (as opposed to Unit-Level Mission Planning Systems) is highly desired.

Experience in Service Oriented Architecture in the Web-services area preferred.

Familiarity with Cyber-security, Information Technology, and Information Assurance requirements to include the application of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) is highly desired.
