Job Description

DCS has a need for a Strategic Planner to conduct broad base analyses, facilitation, and assessment of Army Close Combat Weapons and Tactical Missile Systems, and their related acquisition programs, to support organizational planning and development.

Essential Job Functions:

Provide comprehensive planning for emerging missile science and technology (S&T) programs.

Develop integrated program strategies, project plans, requirements and architecture definition.

Conduct trade studies, risk management, and technology development coordination/oversight, and report on performance, cost and schedule status.

Effectively lead or coordinate Integrated Product Teams (IPT) comprising S&T subject matter experts from Industry, Academia, Program Office, Other Government Agency and/or User representatives.

Recognize market opportunities, understand competitive positioning, assess competitor strengths/ weaknesses, and develop courses of action to gain competitive advantage with assigned market space.

Develop and maintain professional relationships with senior Government managers and engineering professionals, and provide briefings and technical information to assist decision makers.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Must have an active Secret clearance.

Bachelor's degree in engineering or science related field.

10-15 years of experience in Army/DoD tactical missile system / precision guided munition component technologies.

Understanding of the DoD Acquisition, PPBES and JCIDS processes/databases.

Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including an understanding of relational database concepts and scheduling tools.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Skills:

Advanced engineering or science degree strongly preferred.

Specific experience with Army Close Combat weapon systems, air-to-ground missiles, loitering munitions, related mission command/C2 systems, or manned-unmanned teaming concepts.

Experience with both soldier-borne and vehicle hardware/software systems.
