Job Description

Software Architect to support F/A-18 Integrated Project Team business application projects. Projects are multi-year efforts, in support of the USN, USMC, and FMS customers. Products are web application business tools with database backend data storage. Existing Web Applications will be re-hosted; looking for an experienced architect to support these efforts.

Essential Job Functions:

Devise software architectures that support iterative functional improvement and facilitate incorporating new technologies to meet requirements.

Analyze business processes and applications to identify current states and gaps.

Develop innovative solutions using the Microsoft .NET Framework with MVC, C#, and Entity Framework.

Develop solutions that meet rigorous security and Information Assurance constraints associated with DoD projects.

Communicate clearly and effectively with end users, executive leadership, stakeholders, and developers.

Provide software architecture guidance to Information Technology leadership regarding infrastructure requirements.

Utilize various APIs and frameworks including Java, REST, or message queueing for application integration.

Develop web interfaces that leverage JavaScript and C# REST APIs.

Understand the Application Development Lifecycle and utilize Agile frameworks, techniques, and tools.

Define effective testing approaches.

Job Requirements

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Bachelor’s Degree (or work experience equivalent) in Computer Science/Engineering; however other disciplines with strong software experience will be considered, plus 8 years of applicable experience.

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Follow all policies and procedures governing the secure operation and authorized use of DoD information systems.

Ability to write SQL, including Design of Database Tables, Development of Stored Procedures and Advanced Queries.

Knowledge of the major software design patterns relevant for Microsoft .NET and how to apply them.

Experience with the following technologies/frameworks - Data Repository - Automated Testing - MVC - JSON/XML - REST APIs - JavaScript/JQuery - Relational Database such as SQL Server (preferred) or Oracle Must have work experience with creating Multi-tier system/software architecture for web based applications.

Desired Skills:

Familiarity with Git or other Configuration Management Systems.

Familiarity with IIS, SSRS, and ASP. Application programming experience in at least one of the following: (Microsoft C#, Java.

Experience with a scripting language (PowerShell preferred).

Experience with Microsoft Access including VBA JavaScript tools/frameworks such as Telerik or Angular.

Knowledge of Naval aircraft platforms including subsystems, telemetry, instrumentation, and weapons Data migration tools such as SSIS.

One or more Microsoft Developer certifications.
