Job Description

In this position you will provide full-spectrum Acquisition Systems Engineering Support to various USAF acquisition programs within the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance and Special Operations Forces (ISR/SOF) Directorate, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio.

Essential Job Functions:

Assist with the annual Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) process within the USAF ISR/SOF Directorate (AFLCMC/WI) as a technical subject matter expert

Provide operationally relevant systems engineering services to assist with technology development activities that identify, analyze, evaluate, test, certify, and implement new capabilities

Assist with compiling potential SBIR topics, coordinating the refinement of topic papers, monitor researchers’ progress, and attend programmatic and technical reviews

Assist with scheduling and coordinating the semi-annual review of SBIR projects sponsored by AFLCMC/WI for the Directorate Chief Engineer

Provide engineering support to the AFLCMC/WI technology transition group by monitoring Government laboratories and contractor’s technology development efforts and assist with coordinating the transition planning of those technologies to Air Force programs of record

Possess knowledge of DoD acquisition management in aircraft weapons, electronic warfare, small and large UAS, platform power generation, avionics, and ISR systems

Apply the principles, criteria, and procedures of the DoD to include DoD 5000.01 and DoD 5000.02 as well as the policies and processes of USAF, HQ AFMC, AFLCMC Engineering Directorate, ISR & SOF Directorate and Division level to all AFLCMC/WIN engineering tasks

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required

A Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, from an ABET accredited program is required. Engineering Management and Engineering Technology type degrees do not fulfil this requirement

A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 4 years of experience on DoD acquisition programs/projects is required

Requires a Top Secret clearance (SSBI within the past five years) with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI-DCID 6/4) eligibility on the first day of employment

Applicant selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Possess the ability to understand and assimilate highly complex technical information, and assist in the assessment, operational planning, testing, and transition of technology to support new USAF programs of record

Desired Skills:

Familiarity with multiple intelligence disciplines to include, but not limited to: Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Imagery Intelligence (IMINT), Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT), Hyperspectral Imaging, and Sense and Avoid (SAA) Systems
