One sentence overview of the role of the position.

The F/A-18 Software Development Team is looking for a software engineer to support F/A-18 Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) software projects.  These projects are multi-year efforts, in support of the USN, USMC and FMS customers.

Essential Job Functions:

Requirements analyses, functional allocation, implement allocated requirements through software design, code and test support.  Investigate, analyze and resolve reported software anomalies.  The engineer will be required to participate in product inspections through each phase of the software life cycle.  The engineer will be asked to participate in process improvement activities as assigned.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Possess a  Bachelor Degree (or work experience equivalent) in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, but other disciplines such as Electronic Engineers with strong software experience will be considered, with minimum 5 years experience.

Be able to obtain and maintain a secret level security clearance.

F/A-18 Software engineer skills should include some of the following:  Visual Basic,  .NET, C++, C#, COM, DLL, HTML, ActiveX, and Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA&D).

Familiarity with Visual Studio and Microsoft Office.
Ability to work as part of a team or independently.

Be able to communicate (written and oral) clearly and professionally.

Knowledge of JMPS Framework and Mission Planning Systems.

Desired Skills:

It is desirable for a candidate to have experience and/or knowledge in CMMI.

Familiarity with  Atlassian Suite and Git.
