Job Description

As the Data Transfer Device (DTD) System Engineer/Integrator. Incumbent serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Digital Memory Device (DMD), Advanced Memory Unit (AMU) and all other platform DTD's (TAMMAC, FIRAMS, MSDRS) in support of F/A-18 & EA-18G aircraft.

Essential Job Functions:

Coordinate and perform system engineering and integration activities as assigned and required for the appropriate model F/A-18 & EA-18G aircraft.

Conduct & laboratory, ground, and flight tests, and verifying the system under test meets performance requirements.

Perform as member of product & requirements integration teams.

Attend and participate in working groups and programmatic meetings as frequently as needed.

Ensure that system level documentation is developed and reviewed to include requirement documents, system specifications, and technical documentation.

Develop detailed test procedures for all tests in accordance with established standards.

Manage completion of applicable test plan content to include but not limited to, resource coordination, instrumentation, and proper aircraft configuration.

Resolve issues discovered during test planning and execution.

Analyze flight & maintenance data for trends, system performance validation and troubleshooting anomalies.

Investigate subsystem problems and anomalies; provide technical & engineering evaluations as required.

Obtain and maintain adequate qualifications to perform on aircraft work such as NACS qualification, seat qualification, Support Equipment license and airfield driver's license.

Independently interface with all levels of the F/A-18 Integrated Product Team as well as external organizations (e.g. Pt Mugu Program Office, PMA-265, NAVAIR, Boeing, Raytheon, etc.) on matters related to system test integration, requirements, schedule, documentation preparation, test planning and test asset positioning in support of laboratory, ground, and flight tests.

The incumbent will travel to NAVAIR, the prime contractor, and other government and industry facilities as required.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Experience and knowledge of MIL-STD-1553 MUX and SCSI Fiber Channel communication protocols on all models of F/A-18  platform are required.

Must have a Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline plus five years of relevant experience.
