Job Description

DCS is seeking a Configuration Manager/ Data Manager (CM/DM) for complex software systems for the U.S. Navy CCS program. In this role, the Configuration Manager will be a member of the Engineering Team supporting CCS software that includes software, datalinks, avionics, payloads and a full spectrum of functional engineering activities including integration, testing, and process management.  Analyze and implement CM/DM processes in accordance with CM plans and industry standards. Conduct Physical Configuration Audits (PCA) on systems prior to establishing a product baseline and update drawing package changes, as required. Ensure proper maintenance of Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) systems and prepare CSA reports as required, and support the establishment and maintenance of production baselines.

Essential Job Functions:

Act as the Configuration Manager for all facets of the program.

Knowledge of the management principles, procedures, and processes needed to support a fully functioning hardware, software, software asset management and document, and artifact CM efforts.

Ability to evaluate the current status and implement improvements to the overall CM program.

Assist the Government in conducting production related Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), configuration status accounting, internal change control process and technical data package reviews.

Performs tasks to develop overarching configuration management and data management strategy for the program.

Creates engineering document trees cataloging baseline system configuration data.

Develops and transforms low/high-level design artifacts into customer deliverables.

Maintains engineering documentation and diagrams.

Build, test and deploy software releases.

Administer and maintain version control software.

Coordinates and communicates with stakeholders, end users, internal & external customer and leadership to acquire waivers (if required) in order to meet contractual requirements.

Coordinates with subcontractors to ensure subcontract deliverables meet specification requirements.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required

A Bachelor's degree plus 5-8 years of professional experience is required.

Must have or be able to attain a DoD SECRET Security Clearance within 6-9 months.

Experience in Agile software lifecycle development and standards.

Experience using JIRA Software, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft TFS/Azure DevOps.

Experience receiving and tracking Government Furnished Information (GFI/GFE).

Experience with tracking of software deficiencies and inventory of equipment.

Experience coordinating documentation deliveries with third-party hardware and software vendors.

Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex problems and develop innovative solutions.

Demonstrated ability to participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution situations involving the full spectrum of configuration management activities.

Develop and maintain a data management strategy for the program.

Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.

Strong listening, questioning, clarifying and summarizing skills.

Desired Skills:

Agile Software Development Process Management experience.
