Job Description

This is an opportunity to join DCS and apply your software engineering talents to the development of advanced software solutions in an exciting environment that advances the technological solutions for Army Ground Combat and Tactical Vehicle Systems.  For this position, DCS is seeking a Software Engineering candidate to support the US Army’s Ground Vehicle Research and Development Center located in Warren Michigan.  

Essential Job Functions:

  • Research, identify, and adapt cutting-edge software technologies to develop solutions while maintaining a cyber-secure environment. 

  • Provide our soldiers with the most advanced tactical and situational awareness capability by developing software solutions for innovative information presentation and user interaction.

  • Integration of cutting edge technologies into various platforms that include; vehicle autonomy, remote operation, next generation power distribution, and active protection systems.

  • Provide support in formulating architectural design, functional specifications, interfaces and documentation of hardware or software systems.

  • Support Technical and Operational Testing in the laboratory or field as required.

Required Skills::

  • Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.

  • Programming with a high-level language (e.g., c, c++, java, python, ruby,)

  • Building user facing services, middleware, and backend systems

  • Agile Development

  • Linux operating systems administration and advanced user functions

  • Reliability engineering

  • Computer networking (e.g., communication protocols, routing and switching, distributed systems, real-time systems)

  • Data spaces, data modeling, data analysis, storage design, data encryption, and administration

  • Information retrieval, machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistics and analytics

  • Vulnerability analysis

The ideal candidate is someone with excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills who is able to:

  • Work in a team environment to build software

  • Handle multiple assignments

  • Synthesize information to solve complex problems

  • Apply complex data structures and algorithms to software engineering problems

  • Develop, diagnose, and integrate COTS and Government developed systems

  • Identify customer needs and validate product design
