Job Description

Infoscitex, a DCS company, has an opportunity for a skilled Assessment Engineer in Dayton, Ohio.  Infoscitex’s team of top-notch engineers, scientists, and computer scientists seeks an Assessment Engineer to assess the performance of signal processing and computer vision algorithms under development for military sensors.

Within our team, typical algorithms include tracking, object detection and identification, sensor fusion, and threat detection. To test an algorithm, novel assessment methodologies are developed based on understanding of the initial data, the desired output, and the structure of the algorithm. Multiple operationally relevant data sets exercise components of the algorithm at varying degrees of difficulty. Analyzing the results of multiple test cases determines the overall performance of the system, which is reported in a concise and statistically accurate way.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

Designing algorithm assessment experiments.

Analyzing and interpreting sensor data.

Identifying and implementing software tools to aid assessment.

Interacting with the development and research community.

Supporting the creation of reports and briefings of assessment progress to multiple levels of customers.

Areas of expertise applicable to this opportunity would include: Full Motion Video (FMV), Wide Area Motion Imaging (WAMI), hyperspectral, RADAR, LADAR/LIDAR, and signal processing; visible and infrared image processing; video processing; computer vision; statistical pattern recognition; multi-sensor data fusion; and remote sensing phenomenology.

Requirements:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

At least a BS in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Optics, Physics, Math or a related discipline with at least 5 years of related experience with algorithm development or assessment. MS + 3 years of experience is considered equitable.   (We have multiple levels associated with this opportunity category.  Candidates with advanced degrees may be considered for alternative classification.)

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility for access to classified information: active Secret clearance, at least.

Strong computer skills (Windows and Linux), including shell scripting, Python, MATLAB, Java, or C/C++.

Experience with Microsoft Office.

Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Skills in random processes and applied mathematics; while not firm requirements, are considered ideal.
