Job Description

The successful candidate will assist the 53d Electronic Warfare Group (53
EWG), 53d Wing, at Eglin AFB, Florida.

Essential Job Functions:

The 53 EWG is the technical focal point for all electronic warfare (EW) support of warfighter systems for the Combat Air Forces (CAF).

The mission of the 53 EWG is to develop and test mission data (MD) to defeat enemy radar and infrared guided missile systems, thus enhancing aircrew and aircraft survivability in combat.

This mission includes operational EW testing, MD development/validation/verification, Force Development Evaluation execution and facilitating Foreign Materiel Exploitation.

Assists Information Assurance Officer with hands-on management of the unit's IA requirements.

Develop, implement, oversee, and maintain an organization program that identifies IA requirements, personnel, process, and procedures.

Ensure all users have the requisite security clearances and supervisory need-to-know authorization.

Review, prepare, and update AIS accreditation packages.

Coordinate changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware with the wing IA office and system-level IA manager or IAO.

Notify customers when changes occur that might affect AIS accreditation/certification.

Perform AIS self-inspections, identify AIS vulnerabilities and implement countermeasures.

Report IA incidents or vulnerabilities. Initiate protective or corrective measures when an IA incident or vulnerability is discovered. Maintain AIS security.

Initiate requests for temporary and permanent exceptions, deviations, or waivers to IA requirements or criteria.

Job Requirements

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Must have an Associate's degree with 4 years of experience.

Required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with access to SCI and SAPs.

Employee may be required to take a random counter-intelligence polygraph and submit to background checks as a condition of employment and/or continued access to SAPs.

The incumbent may be subject to the possibility of random drug tests.

Certification: Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in
DOD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level 2. (i.e., Security + CE certification).

The successful candidate must have knowledge of information, industrial, and personnel security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs.

An in-depth knowledge of information systems (IS) supporting special access program (SAP) networks.

The ability to manage the 53d EWG's information assurance (IA) program.

Knowledge of IS security concepts, principles, and practices.

Knowledge of required security SAP and sensitive compartmented information
(SCI) security procedures.

Knowledge of required SAP and sensitive compartmented information (SCI) security procedures.

Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the installation.

Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.

Ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines.

Knowledge of IA principles and organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity and availability, authentication, non-repudiation); knowledge of Risk Management Framework requirements; knowledge of systems diagnostic tools and fault identification techniques; vulnerability scanning; knowledge of incident response and handling methodologies; knowledge of basic system administration and operating system hardening techniques; knowledge of DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides.
