Job Description

COVID-19 continues to significantly impact our employees, families and communities. DCS is seeking an Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Operator to support our operations at Eglin AFB, FL.

Essential Job Functions:

Integrating new UAS sensors and modifying Robot Operating System (ROS) software.

Operating and maintaining Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).

Planning and executing ground and flight test plans.

Conducting post-flight analysis of flight logs.

Coordinating with engineering team and safety team.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

A High School Diploma plus 10 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience is required.

Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance within 6-9 months of hire.

Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS) programming language.

Applicants should have an FAA Part 107 License or be eligible to acquire one.

Previous UAS Operator experience with verifiable flight time/flight logs.

Experience with multi-rotor and fixed wing group 1 and group 2 UAS.

Basic knowledge of UAS sensors.

Experience in integrating, operating, and tuning autopilots on a variety of unmanned vehicles.

Experience modifying the autopilots to take in different and new guidance and control requests from new non-COTS sensors. For example, flexibility in determining heading, heading rate, altitude rate, velocity etc.

Able to work effectively both within a team and individually.

Desired Skills:

Experience with USAF flight approval procedures and safety regulations.

Basic knowledge of electrical test equipment such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes.

Ability to work hands-on with electro-mechanical systems, to include assembly, disassembly, testing, and troubleshooting.

Existing DoD secret security clearance.
