Job Description

Candidate will be a Systems Engineer supporting the Airborne Electronic Attack team.

Essential Job functions:

Assist the customer with development of AEA system/subsystem requirement.

Perform requirements analysis and design studies.Translate the PMA/customer requirements into system design.

Prepare and review data for milestone reviews.

Coordinate requirement change notices and change implementation(s).

Lead F/A-18 Integrated Product Team (IPT) activities related to AEA Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Coordinate and assist with developing interface requirements Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and Interface Design Documents (IDDs), at a minimum, for AEA systems.

Attend Technical/Programmatic AEA meetings.

Provide oversight and coordination for the following IPT activities in support of system/software development and integration testing.

Coordinate with the IPT Lead System Engineer (LSE) on best Systems Engineering practices, including updated Agile practices, and inform/mentor the AEA team members on current and updated practices.

Participate at Block and subsystem Operational Flight Program (OFP) software process reviews. Review and approval of documentation to include requirements and design documents.

Lead the review and approval of AEA product information in the Technical Engineering (Grey/Gold/Cyan) Books, NATIP/NATOPs and other government developed publications.

Generation, review, and updates for Statements of Requirements(SORs), Safety of Flights(SOFs), and Statements of Limitations(SOLs) in the Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs).

Support flight-testing, Detailed Method of Test (DMOT)/Test Plan/Flight card reviews and analysis efforts to continuously monitor and assess the overall AEA/EA-18G Performance and maturation process.

Capturing systems engineering “lessons learned” from the project for use in the IPT’s process improvement efforts.

Assist with reviewing of and technical based Design Agent’s Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs).

Assist with planning, coordinating and cost estimating IPT Product support.

Assist with identifying and implementing project specific systems engineering/technical training for the AEA team members.

Characterize project technical and programmatic risks, develop risk mitigation plans, and manage these risks throughout the project life cycle.

Assist with system safety activities.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Bachelors of Science (BS) in engineering with a minimum of 5 years of flight test and/or Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) development work experience.

Excellent communication skills and able to liaison with outside agencies and ability to work independently.

Must demonstrate an ability to analyze and interpret multiple technical data sets, and organize/present data into tables, charts, graphs to support program requirements.

Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

Possess high moral character and integrity.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.


Familiarization with AGILE and the ability to work within small groups or SCRUM teams.
