Job Description

In this role as Journeyman System/General Engineer, you shall apply an understanding of DoD, USAF, and common engineering/scientific principles, processes, and procedures to improve performance and sustainability of existing and future USAF and joint service weapon systems.

You shall support B-21 system program offvie within the Bomber Directorate, US Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. 

The job will be a combination of Teleworking and in-office support (Hybrid position).

Essential Job Functions:

Familiar with the DoD acquisitions process.

Experience with the systems engineering process, requirements analysis, system design process, system integration, requirements verification / validation, and  Development Test / Operational Test (DT/OT) processes.

Experience providing technical management of DoD contractors and be capable of managing the technical execution and evaluation of DoD systems, subsystems, and components during development.

Experience evaluating technical proposals in order to provide advice on the evaluation of technical proposals.

Experience with technical risk management.

Ability and knowledge to develop technical engineering programs, plans, and objectives. 

Knowledge to establish technical milestones for the progress of assigned systems through the total acquisition life cycle.

Plan, program, coordinate, and control the technical executions of engineering functions to meet program requirements.

Ability to make formal and informal presentations and prepare technical reports and papers in the technical areas of expertise, and participate in conferences and  discussions relating to assigned systems.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Have active Top Secret security clearance with an in-scope investigation (within the last 6 years); Specific Special Access eligible.   

Journeyman labor category shall have a minimum of 10 years of relevant DoD experience and an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

2 of these years must be in a special access DoD acquisition program as a sub-system lead engineer within a recognized ACAT I program office and must have accrued within the four years prior to selection for employment under this contract.
