Salary Range: $80,084 - $130,000
As the Data Transfer Device (DTD) Systems Engineer, you will coordinate and perform Mission Systems (MS) team integration activities for the F/A-18 & EA-18G aircraft USN and FMS variants. Perform as the F/A-18 & EA-18G IPT primary contact point with contractors, program managers, and sponsors for MS team projects involving the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS).
Essential Job Functions:
- Coordinate and perform Mission Systems (MS) team integration activities for the F/A-18 & EA-18G aircraft USN and FMS variants.
- Perform as the F/A-18 & EA-18G IPT primary contact point with contractors, program managers, and sponsors for MS team projects involving Data Transfer Devices (DTDs).
- Independently interface with all levels of the F/A-18 IPT as well as external organizations (e.g Program Office, Aircraft PMAs, NAVAIR, Boeing, Raytheon, etc.) on matters related to DTD integration, parts obsolescence, project planning, scheduling, document preparation, engineering document assessment and integration planning.
- Obtain and maintain adequate qualifications with current standards, procedures and schedules. Develop plans and make written and oral presentations to contractors, sponsors, and IPT management on program status, technical problems, scheduling, and costs.
- Provide technically sound advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, peers, and sponsors on specific technical aspects of DTDs. Perform as a subject matter expert for aircraft software and hardware changes involving DTDs and associated subsystems installed on the F/A-18 & EA-18G platforms and develop integrated breakdown structure (IBS) plans and asset requirement plans encompassing the development and verification phases of developmental software.
- Provide engineering analysis, recommendations and solutions for complex challenges during system design and anomaly corrections. Ensure that required documentation (detailed procedures, etc.) is developed for all tests and is in accordance with current standards, procedures and schedules.
- Perform as a Statement of Requirement Team Lead (SOR Team Lead) for aircraft software changes involving JMPS and associated subsystems installed on the F/A-18 & EA-18G platforms and develop integrated breakdown structure (IBS) plans and asset requirement plans encompassing the development and verification phases of developmental software.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Must Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience. Will also consider a Master's degree with 6 years of related experience.
Must be able to work onsite - This position is not remote work eligible.
Must have the ability to work with various server and workstation operating systems.
Must have or be able to obtain DOD 8570.01-M certification.
Desired Skills:
Experience with F/A-18 or EA-18G aircraft platforms a plus.
Familiarization with JMPS software a plus.
