Job Description

Configuration and Data Management, technical writer, Digital Precision Strike Suite (DPSS).

Essential Job Functions:

Will be responsible for the planning and implementation of a Configuration and Data Management program, applying configuration management techniques (identification, control, and accounting) in accordance with DoD standards as appropriate to the program or as directed by the program manager. Incumbent is responsible to plan, design, write, edit, maintain, revise, and coordinate the preparation of documentation or presentation elements, such as reports, printed or visual media, specifications, and requirements that involve the application of configuration/data management concepts for program management.

Conceives, plans, and monitors documentation for the program. Ensures technical accuracy and legal and technical adequacy of required logistics documentation. Prepare instruction manuals, technical documentation, briefs, style guides and other supporting documents to communicate complex and technical information in a professional and uniform a manner for dissemination to approved customers. Establishment of technical writer process and procedures.

Maintain controlled documentation such as Training Guides, User Guides, and Software Version Description documents, Formal Review Presentations, Test Procedures and Test Reports.

Maintain software anomaly reports, verify records are complete, produce and distribute reports as needed.

Co-chair change review boards with engineering product leads.

Record, track, and publish action items and meeting minutes for required meetings and events.

Data Management: Prepare items for shipment and track status of delivered items.

Assist in Technical writing duties including template creation, implementing edits on assigned documentation and graphics, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, form.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

High school diploma/GED or Associates-level (AA/AS/Technical school) degree.

Must be able to be granted a security clearance and maintain one for the duration of employment.

Self-motivated, comfortable working independently or in a group.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Detail oriented and must be able to work multiple assignments simultaneously.

Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Experience providing editing/formatting support on documentation/presentation materials.

Advanced skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and Power Point.

Desired Skills:

Previous experience in Software Development environment.

Previous experience in configuration management.

Previous experience utilizing Agile methodology.

Familiarity with tactical data systems on DoD mobile platforms.
